Welcome to The Good Girl Box Blog
This is a space for women 50+ who are done playing small. Real talk, real stories, and real tools for reclaiming your joy, your voice, and your next chapter.
Welcome to The Good Girl Box Blog
I have a confession to make.
For most of my life, I was the good girl. I said yes when I meant no. I made myself smaller so others could feel bigger. I put everyone else's needs first and called it love — when really, it was fear.
Maybe you know exactly what I'm talking about.
If you're here, chances are you've spent decades being everything to everyone. The caretaker. The peacekeeper. The one who holds it all together. And somewhere along the way, you lost track of you.
This blog is for you.
Why I Started This Space
After years of coaching women just like you — and doing my own deep work — I realized something important: the second half of life is not a consolation prize. It's an invitation.
An invitation to finally stop performing and start being. To trade the exhausting role of "good girl" for the far more interesting role of yourself.
But here's the thing — nobody hands you a roadmap for that. There's no guidebook for reinventing yourself at 52 or 58 or 64. There's no one telling you that the grief you feel after your kids leave, your marriage ends, or your career shifts is actually the beginning of something extraordinary.
That's what this blog is for.
What You'll Find Here
Every post I write is rooted in one belief: you are not too old, too broken, or too far behind. You are exactly where you need to be.
Here's what we'll explore together:
Real talk about reinvention. What it actually looks like to rebuild your identity when the roles that defined you start to fall away. The messy, beautiful, terrifying truth of it.
Relationships and dating after 50. Whether you're navigating a long marriage, a painful divorce, or the wild world of dating again — we'll talk about it honestly, without judgment.
The grief nobody talks about. Loss takes so many forms in this season of life. We'll name them, honor them, and find the path through.
Your brain, your power. The science of how your mindset shapes everything — and the practical tools to rewire the patterns that have been holding you back.
Stories from women like you. Because nothing is more powerful than hearing "me too" from someone who's walked a similar road.
A Word About "The Good Girl"
The name of this community isn't an accident.
The "good girl" conditioning runs deep in most of us. We were taught — explicitly or implicitly — that our worth was tied to our compliance. Be agreeable. Be helpful. Don't take up too much space. Don't want too much. Don't be too much.
And for a while, it worked. It kept us safe. It earned us approval.
But at some point — maybe it was a health scare, a divorce, a birthday with a zero on the end, or just a quiet Tuesday morning when you looked in the mirror and didn't recognize yourself — the old rules stopped working.
That moment? That's not a crisis. That's a calling.
You Are Not Starting Over. You Are Starting From Experience.
I want to be clear about something: this is not about becoming someone new. It's about becoming more fully you.
All those years of experience, wisdom, heartbreak, and resilience? They're not baggage. They're your foundation. The woman you're becoming in this next chapter gets to stand on all of that.
She gets to be softer and stronger at the same time. She gets to say no without guilt and yes without resentment. She gets to take up space, ask for what she wants, and stop apologizing for existing.
She gets to be happy with who she is.
Let's Do This Together
I'm so glad you're here. Whether you found your way to this blog through a friend, a search engine, or some beautiful cosmic accident — you belong here.
In the weeks and months ahead, I'll be sharing everything I know about this season of life. The tools that have transformed my clients. The research that backs it up. The stories that will make you laugh, cry, and feel less alone.
And I'll be honest with you — even when it's uncomfortable. Especially then.
Because that's what the good girl never got to do.
Welcome to your next chapter. I can't wait to walk it with you.
With love and zero apologies,
Karen
